Job description
Be a founding forward deployed engineer at a venture-backed physical AI company that delivers teleoperation and robotics training data to frontier AI labs and humanoid robotics companies. You become the single technical owner for a portfolio of strategic customers.
What you'll do
- Scope customer requirements and own data delivery end to end
- Understand the data pipeline and QA data before it ships
- Resolve technical customer issues independently, without escalating to other engineers
- Manage expectations and timelines with sophisticated technical customers
Compensation
$230,000 to $310,000 base for strong candidates, plus equity.
Location
On-site in San Mateo, five days a week. No relocation support. H-1B transfer and OPT accepted; no new sponsorship.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years as a customer-facing engineer or forward deployed engineer (3+ years acceptable from a top-tier technical company)
- Strong production coding, Python preferred
- Able to independently troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Strong customer communication
- Bay Area local, on-site five days a week in San Mateo
- Robotics, autonomy, or embodied AI experience a plus (teleoperation, sensor logs, ROS, MCAP, HDF5)
