Job description
Join as an early engineer at a seed-stage healthcare AI company automating specialty medication access: prior authorization, benefits verification, and patient assistance enrollment across providers, pharmacies, and payers. You will build product from zero with the founders.
What you'll do
- Build full-stack, backend-leaning, with the founding team
- Work on integration-heavy backend: third-party APIs, data pipelines, workflow and browser automation, and legacy systems
- Ship product from zero rather than maintaining a mature system
- Partner directly with the founders on what to build
Compensation
$160,000 to $220,000 base, plus 0.5% to 1.5% equity.
Location
Hybrid in New York, NY (Flatiron), 3+ days a week. No visa sponsorship.
Requirements
- 4 to 8 years as a software engineer, full-stack but backend-leaning
- Python strongly preferred (Ruby, Java, or Go backend also count), with React, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Has built products from zero at a high-growth startup, or shipped enterprise AI products
- Integration-heavy backend experience: third-party APIs, data pipelines, workflow automation
- Nice to have: health tech (EHR/EMR, HL7, FHIR, pharmacy, payer, claims), production LLM or agent features
- U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship)
